Energy Connect represents the operational telecoms needs of the energy sector to Ofcom, government bodies and international standards organisations.
We liaise with government on the urgent need to secure and invest in the mission-critical telecoms that keep the lights on across the country. We ensure existing radio spectrum is protected to keep operational networks free from interference.
The regulatory environment for telecoms is changing fast, as new technologies bring new opportunities and risks. Energy Connect provides independent evidence to government and regulators, so that decisions on spectrum allocation, resilience, policy and infrastructure are grounded in operational reality. We advocate for the creation of a national telecoms network that is resilient, secure and available for the whole energy sector – while working to protect existing networks from the ever-shifting telecoms landscape around them.
